How to visit and use the gallery

After reading the below, you can use the 3D Virtual Gallery menu option on this website's homepage, or click the picture above or text link at bottom below. For your convenience, the 2021 Reunions Schedule/Calendar also provides the direct link to the online Gallery and to this website, the catalog for the gallery show.

The gallery always opens in its own new separate window, while other windows stay open.

1.   Use a Chrome browser. Click the Gallery link, using your computer or smartphone.

2.   Allow the Gallery Show to load (allow 30 seconds, regardless of your device).

3.   You will be taken automatically to the gallery's front door. You do not have to Log In.

4.   Click the Full Screen icon at the top left of the gallery's first screen. (See picture below.)

5.   Locate the Guided Tour feature at the bottom center of the Gallery’s first screen.

You will see a panel of control buttons similar to typical controls for watching a video.

Option 1
Use the right-pointing arrowhead button to load and start the guided tour (10 to 20 seconds startup time). It will tour the entire show automatically. However, you can control the tour (pause, reverse, etc.) with the other buttons.

Option 2
You can also see any work in any order that you prefer by using the Downward arrow button instead of the other buttons. Click the down arrow in the Guided Tour buttons to open the pop-up list of artists and whatever other items are part of the gallery's current display. Click on any item in the list; for example, click an artist to go to the gallery wall of that artist’s work.

When you are at a desired wall of work:

  • the dark popup box showing the artist's name can be closed by clicking the X in its upper right corner; this will allow unobstructed view of works on the wall

  • click on any work to zoom in on it

  • click it a second time to enlarge and pop up information about that work

  • exit info boxes or Zoom out of the work by clicking any displayed X in the upper right corner, or by clicking your browser's "Back" button

  • occasionally you may need to double-click to get the intended effect

To pull away for more distance from a wall:

  • close any open info boxes

  • press your keyboard's down arrow key. If you are not using a keyboard, you may need to  use the Tour control buttons to go directly to Start the Tour, then you can come back with a Guide Point to see the full wall of your choice again.

Using the Guided Tour is the easiest, fastest way to see the artwork. However...

  • You can also navigate the gallery space by clicking a spot on the floor to zoom to that spot, and then “grabbing” any place on the screen to drag it left, right, up or down. Try your keyboard's arrow keys as well.

  • To grab and drag the screen, click and HOLD a spot with your pointer while you move your pointer around.

TIP: if you get disoriented, use the Tour Guide down-arrow to pop up the list of artists and select one. Your position should reset and be level, facing the wall.

Speed to any work you can see on your screen:

If a work is visible anywhere on your screen, you can click it and you will zoom across the room to that work. You can always use the Tour controls in addition to doing this.

Practice navigating the gallery:

  • From time to time, you may need to double-click wall items or the floor  to get the response you need, instead of needing only a single click.

  • When you drag the screen to pan your view, first try slowly so that you get a feel for staying in control.

  • If you get disoriented in any way, use the Tour Guide buttons to snap back to a chosen level spot.

Leave the gallery at any time.

You do not have to close the gallery or log out of anything. However, treat it like any other website. Close your browser for your own cyber security.

Using a Chrome browser, visit the Gallery here.
